Why Seek Accreditation?
The world is looking for a free market, where customers need suppliers of goods and services to meet their needs and expectations in an effective and efficient manner. And their competing customers and providers both rely on compliance process based on compliance tests with various specifications, requirements and standards. This situation has created a new open challenge to remove unnecessary and costly barriers to trade.
Recognizing the need for equity across borders, many governments around the world redefine their role from regulator to promoter and trade and industry now focus on regulating their businesses. While governments can provide police to ensure that goods, services and the environment meet the needs of the people, voluntary involvement of the private sector with a clear customer focus ensures such production and delivery.
The Global Accreditation Assessment Forum Series (UGAF) series focuses on these independent Confformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) and Further Training and Educational Institutions that require less policing and additional support to ensure that goods and services meet the needs and expectations of business and consumer communities. Authorization is a voluntary process. However, official third-party certification of the Conformity Assessment Body may be desirable for demonstrating its effectiveness. Authorization enables it to do this.
